The Jacksonville Jaguars are now 6-2 and currently third in the AFC after defeating the Baltimore Ravens 33-10 on Thursday Night Football.
While the Jaguars were assumed to be victorious going into Week 9, they still played a great game. Trevor Lawrence threw for 242 yards and a touchdown, while the defense was able to force three turnovers and hold Baltimore to just 10 points, even without injured starters DaVon Hamilton and Eric Murray.
Jacksonville is increasingly considered a legitimate playoff contender, but several players said the Jaguars can still get even better.
Following the victory over the Ravens, running back Chris Rodriguez told Action Sports Jax that as good as this team is, there's still unreached potential.
"I think we're way better
than what we've put out there," he said. "There's a lot of things we've got to clean up and we get a few days off, and next week we'll look at those and keep moving forward. But, man, this team is really good."

It was echoed in separate comments from Travon Walker, who clearly has the Super Bowl on his mind as he compared the Jaguars to another championship team.
"I'd say we're great, man. Me, the way I look at it, I kind of look at it like, similar to the Georgia team that I played on, the National Championship team," he said. "We got so many great players on this team, like, it's hard to always just be like, oh, this guy's going to have to carry the team this week. Nah, we don't have that. Everybody on this team, from starters to players coming off of the bench, playing roles, things of that nature, everybody's just balling. I feel like that's what's going to continuously take us to that next level. We just got to continue to keep improving."
Travon Walker believes this Jaguars team has the talent and depth to make some serious noise. Everybody has a role, and everybody is stepping up. 🐆🔥#Jaguars #DUUUVAL pic.twitter.com/2xl1FGAC0T

As both Rodriguez and Walker acknowledged, there are still areas where Jacksonville can improve; the Jaguars managed just 77 rushing yards against Baltimore, for example, and occasionally struggled to sustain drives. They settled for four field goals despite repeatedly moving into scoring position.
All the same, though, Jacksonville has repeatedly shown that this team is one of the most complete in the NFL. There is no shortage of talent on the roster, and each unit — offense, defense, and special teams — has proven this season that it can win games. If there is still even more potential for the Jaguars to reach, then this will truly be a team for the rest of the league to fear.
