ESPN's Eric Moody believes that Houston Texans QB CJ Stroud could be a streaming option in Week 6 of the fantasy football season against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
As Moody notes, the Jaguars' defense has been stingy this season, surrendering only 14.0 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. However, Stroud is coming off a pair of solid performances, and the Houston passing game got a boost this week as well.
"Stroud has scored at least 20 fantasy points in back-to-back games and averaged 19.9 fantasy points in five career games against Jacksonville. WR Nico Collins remains his top target, and Stroud now has another familiar playmaker in Harrison," Moody wrote.
Where Stroud could potentially find success is pushing the ball downfield. According
to ESPN, the Jaguars' defense has given up 608 yards on passes of 15-plus yards this season -- the second-highest total in the NFL. Stroud, meanwhile, is one of two quarterbacks with 45 passes of at least 15 yards downfield.
The Jaguars will be without starting cornerback Montaric Brown this week, meaning that Travis Hunter and Jarrian Jones will take all of the outside CB snaps.
The Jaguars' ability to pressure Stroud will be key in this game as well and can limit those downfield opportunities, although getting after the QB has been up and down for Jacksonville this season.
