Jacksonville Jaguars' second-year defensive endBJ Green asked Liam Coen what he has to do to get thrown out of practice.
And yes, you read that correctly.
"He asked me today," Coen said on Friday, "'What does it take to get thrown out of practice?' And I'm like, what do you mean? And he goes, 'Not in a bad way. In a way that I'm disrupting, to the point where you have to take me (out).' He's on his mind in terms of wanting to take the next step, and we were laughing; it was a cool moment. But you can tell BJ wants to make an impact on this team. He's worked his tail off to get to this point and we're seeing it every day."

Getting kicked out of practice as a pass rusher isn't a new topic among this Jaguars team with Coen at the helm. In fact, during his exit meeting with Travon Walker following the 2025 season, Coen told him that he wants to have to remove him from practice because Walker is being so disruptive and the offense can't accomplish anything.
Green wants to reach that level as well. And that highlights the competitiveness that Green brings to this defense, something Josh Hines-Allen discussed recently.
"He's done a great job. Something we've been stressing with him is the run game. His get-off in the pass rush, we all appreciate; we gotta work with him on the top of the rush a little bit more, but his ability so far, especially the last two days, of setting vertical edges in the run game, that's been something, you look at him, he's explosive, he can get underneath your pads. He's kind of a problem for tight ends, especially at the point of attack when he can get underneath them. I've been very pleased with him."
Green is competing with Danny Striggow, Wesley Williams, and Zach Durfee for the rotational defensive end reps behind Hines-Allen and Walker.
