With the initial 53-man roster now set for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Liam Coen met with the local media members on Wednesday to discuss the team and the latest moves.

Jaguars' Liam Coen discusses roster and cutdown day moves
- Coen noted Ewers' arm talent that he displayed last season and that he liked him coming out of Texas in the 2025 NFL draft. Coen also mentioned the importance of keeping Nick Mullens on the practice squad with his experience.
- It was in OTAs that Coen first really noticed UDFA pass rusher Bryan Thomas Jr., noting his explosiveness and how he hit the bags at that time. While Thomas Jr. flashed in training camp practices, his ability to carry that over to the preseason
games was eye-catching.
- In a crowded wide receiver room, Coen notes evaluating those players by also what they do when the ball isn't coming their way -- winning routes, run blocking, etc.
- Coen says that Jakobi Meyers should be practicing on Wednesday and Brian Thomas Jr. was a full-go on Tuesday.
- Coen believes that this year's practice squad, compared to last year's, has improved. He notes there's a good mix of players to develop but also those who can be elevated to the game-day roster if needed.
- Coen notes the added confidence that he, Lawrence, and the rest of the offense have in the downfield passing game.
- "He has a little gamer in him," Coen said of QB Joey Aguilar. Adding that there is still development needed. "He's calm on game day."
- Coen discussed how Lawrence's ability to extend plays can help create opportunities in the passing game.
- Coen mentions how valuable the experience that Ameer Abdullah and Jahlani Tavai bring to the Jaguars.
