It doesn't look like Jacksonville Jaguars' wide receiver Parker Washington will have a new contract prior to the regular season starting.
According to Cameron Wolfe of the NFL Network, it is "unlikely" that a new deal will get done by the start of the season.
Washington is set to enter the final year of his rookie deal, and he is currently slated to be a free agent during the 2027 offseason.
Wolfe added that the Jaguars explored a deal in the Michael Wilson's range after he signed a three-year, $75 million extension with Arizona recently. However, Jacksonville and Washington could not come to terms.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz is reporting that Washington and the Jaguars' relationship “remains in a healthy place.”
As the 2025 season progressed, Washington emerged as a go-to target for Lawrence. Including the postseason, Washington eclipsed the 100-yard receiving mark in three of the Jaguars' final four games.
In all four contests, he was targeted by Trevor Lawrence at least nine times. Washington is versatile, able to run a variety of routes, and he adds a YAC element to the offense.
"To me, my job is to come out here and stay ready to go, just do my job, be the best receiver I can be and make plays for the team," Washington said last week, via Jaguars.com. "I'm just focused on me, being the best teammate I can be and having fun out here. If we get it done, that's cool. If not, I'm going to go out Sunday and leave my best out there."
