Despite Brian Thomas Jr.'s decreasing role in theJacksonville Jaguars offense, the team has "shown no signs of engaging in trade talks," according to Adam Schefter.
However, that doesn't mean that other teams won't be calling the Jaguars ahead of the Nov. 10 trade deadline.
"Teams are expected to ramp up calls closer to the deadline," Schefter wrote.
Since Week 1, Thomas Jr.'s role on offense has continued to decrease, with his playing time plummeting in the Jaguars' most recent game against Houston. Thomas Jr. would end up seeing just 15 snaps in that contest, none of which came in the second half.
On the season, he has nine receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown, with no catches in the last two games.
As opportunities dwindle for Thomas Jr.,
it's becoming increasingly difficult to see where he fits in the Liam Coen offense.
Parker Washington and Jakobi Meyers lead the way at wideout for the Jaguars, while Josh Cameron has steadily earned more opportunities, and it looks like Travis Hunter could as well. The Jaguars ' use of two- and three-tight-end sets doesn't help his case either.
So while the Jaguars have remained consistent in their messaging that they don't plan to trade Thomas Jr., things can change quickly in the NFL, as we've seen over the last few weeks.
