The Jacksonville Jaguars announced one practice squad elevation ahead of Sunday's Week 3 matchup with the New England Patriots. The Jaguars will also have a new backup quarterback this week.
The player elevated is linebacker Jalen McLeod. This is McLeod's second of three practice squad elevations. Last week against Denver, McLeod played 10 special teams snaps, contributing to three different phases.
He will likely take on a similar role this week.

The Jaguars will have a new backup quarterback in Week 3
In Weeks 1 and 2, the Jaguars elevated Nick Mullens from the practice squad to serve as Trevor Lawrence's backup, while Quinn Ewers was inactive.
While the Jaguars
are bullish on Ewers' upside, Mullens' experience in the NFL and in Liam Coen's offense is valuable. However, he was not elevated this week, which means Ewers will be the backup.
After being a late addition to the Jaguars' roster, Ewers has had additional time to get familiar with the scheme. Practice squad players can also only be elevated three times, so Mullens already has just one elevation remaining.
