Early in the 2025 season, the Jacksonville Jaguars traded running back Tank Bigsby to the Philadelphia Eagles -- a move that Bigsby was ready for.
In a recent appearance on the 'Behind the Mask' podcast with Takeo Spikes, Bigsby shared his reaction when he found out that he had been traded.
"It was the best thing that ever happened to me," Bigsby said of the trade. "I wasn't mad that Philly traded for me, I was actually happy. Like I was so happy to get out of Jacksonville. It was a blessing to get out of there and when I got that call it was a life-changing moment. And being behind Saquon, all that taught me was everybody have a time. It's just about are you willing to wait for your time? And what I learned from Saquon this year, this man still
takes accountability; he's still listening to his coach, so I sat there and looked at how humble he really is as a player and I'm like I can be around this. I couldn't be around somebody that's pretending, that wanted the fame but didn't want put the work in. I couldn't."

Former Jaguar Tank Bigsby says being traded to Philly was one of the best things to ever happen to him.

Bigsby ultimately found himself as the odd man out in a crowded Jaguars' running back room. Under then-new head coach Liam Coen, the Jaguars were going to lean on Travis Etienne in the run game, while the team had also just drafted Bhayshul Tuten and LeQuint Allen earlier that offseason.
In return for dealing Bigsby, the Jaguars received 2026 fifth- and sixth-round selections.
Bigsby was a third-round pick by Jacksonville in 2023. During his Jaguars career, he appeared in 34 games, making one start, while totaling 910 rushing yards with nine touchdowns.
