The Jacksonville Jaguars started the 2026 season off with a bang, easily defeating the Cleveland Browns 34-10. While it was a strong game for the team as a whole, it was the first step towards a comeback season for wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.
Thomas had a superstar rookie season, followed by a more disappointing sophomore year, and there were big questions about how he would perform in 2026. He started the first half strong, making all three of his catches for 40 yards, before having to exit the game with a shoulder injury, and then returning again in the second quarter.
But what made this game especially noteworthy for Thomas is that he reached 2,000 career yards, the second-youngest player in franchise history to do so.

While his Week 1 performance was generally quieter, it still gave him a major milestone to celebrate, and reaching 2,000 career yards is a good start for the rebound season Thomas is surely looking for. It also shows just how strong his NFL career has been so far, given that he has only just started his third year in the NFL.
