Coming off the Jacksonville Jaguars' Week 1 win over the Cleveland Browns, here is a look at which players received the best and worst PFF grades.
Now, before we dive into all that, I do want to mention that while PFF's grading system is certainly helpful at quantifying a player's performance, it is not the be-all and end-all when it comes to evaluations. It is one tool out of many that are out there and should be treated as such.
For some context around these grades, below is the grading scale.
- 90.0+: Elite
- 80-89.9: High quality
- 70-79.9: Good
- 60-69.9: Above average
- 50-59.9: Average
- 40-49.9: Below average
- 39.9 or less: Poor
Jaguars' 5 highest-graded players on offense
- WR Parker Washington: 90.9
- RB Bhayshul Tuten: 87.2
- WR Josh Cameron: 87.1
- QB Trevor Lawrence: 86.0
- RT Cole Van Lanen: 75.5
Washington led the team in receiving with 83 yards and a score. Cameron caught both passes for 20 yards and a touchdown. Lawrence was excellent, completing 78% of his passes for 245 yards with four touchdowns. Tuten averaged 4.4 yards per carry, and Van
Lanen didn't surrender any pressures.

- LB Ventrell Miller: 92.4
- LB Branson Combs: 84.3
- LB Foye Oluokun: 82.7
- DE Josh Hines-Allen: 78.2
- S Caleb Ransaw: 70.6
After letting Devin Lloyd walk in free agency, the Jaguars' top three defenders by PFF's metrics in Week 1 were all linebackers. The trio combined for 12 solo tackles, three pressures, with Oluokun securing an interception. Hines-Allen logged five pressures and two sacks, while Ransaw made six total tackles and logged a pressure.
Jaguars' 5 lowest-graded players overall
- DT Arik Armstead: 29.4
- LB Dennis Gardeck: 36.4
- S Eric Murray: 46.7
- DE Danny Striggow: 50.3
- G Emmanuel Pregnon
The Jaguars were terrific on Sunday, so picking out the lowest-graded players feels like nitpicking, to a degree. Armstead didn't log any pressures and had one solo tackle. Gardeck had a missed tackle and allowed 30 yards on two receptions.
Murray's tackling grade, with two missed tackles, brought down his overall grade. Striggow didnt log any pressures and had a missed takcle. Pregnon's run-blocking brought down his overall grade.
