Entering the final week of the preseason, there are still a few questions that the Jacksonville Jaguars are looking for answers to.
With two joint practices and a preseason game this week, the answers to these key questions could begin coming into focus. And if not, then the focus on these players will extend into the regular season.
Who makes up the starting offensive line unit?
Cole Van Lanen is practicing, but he is not yet doing 11-on-11 work, and it remains to be seen if he will be a full go for Week 1. So without Van Lanen in the team periods on Sunday,John Shipley of Jaguars on SI noted that the offensive line unit consisted of Anton Harrison at left tackle, followed by Emmanuel Pregnon, Robert Hainsey, Ezra Cleveland, and Walker Little.
If Van Lanen can't play Week 1, then this may
be the group that the Jaguars go with. If he is available, then he will slide into the right tackle role, at which point the Jaguars could leave the group as is or put Little at right guard and Cleveland back at left guard.
Can the pass rush depth generate steady pressure?
This was a question coming into training camp and one that still lacks clarity. In the first preseason game, several rotational pass rush members got after the quarterback. In the most recent contest, that group was much quieter.
With Josh Hines-Allen, Travon Walker, and Arik Armstead, the Jaguars are positioned well at the top of the depth chart. But for the overall consistency of this unit to improve in 2026, more steady pressure from the rotational members of the defensive end and tackle units will be a must.
What will Travis Hunter's workload on offense look like?
Over the last week of practices, nearly all of Hunter's 11-on-11 snaps have come on defense, setting the stage for him to potentially play a big role at cornerback come Week 1. That said, the expectation is that he will still see snaps on offense, but how many remains to be seen.
The matchups and in-game situations could dictate what that workload looks like, resulting in Hunter's snap counts at wide receiver changing from week to week.
