With the bye week here for the Jacksonville Jaguars, let's take a look at which players received the best PFF grades on offense through the first six games of the season.
Now, before we dive into all that, I do want to mention that while PFF's grading system is certainly helpful at quantifying a player's performance, it is not the be-all and end-all when it comes to evaluations. It is one tool out of many that are out there and should be treated as such.
For some context around these grades, below is the grading scale.
- 39.9 or less: Poor
- 90.0+: Elite
- 80-89.9: High quality
- 70-79.9: Good
- 60-69.9: Above average
- 50-59.9: Average
- 40-49.9: Below average
RB Bhayshul Tuten: 90.6
Tuten has been a weapon both in the run game and in the pass game. His ability to make defenders miss and to bounce off tacklers has helped set him apart as a ball carrier.
WR Travis Hunter: 86.7
Hunter's opportunities on offense have been minimal, but
he's been effective, catching all six targets for 76 yards with a score. Four of his receptions have gone for first downs as well.
WR Parker Washington: 81.6
Washington continues to be a go-to target for Trevor Lawrence. Not only is he often reliable, but he's a big-play threat as well. Washington has 26 receptions for 416 yards with four touchdowns.
CB Chris Rodriguez: 76.3
Rodriguez is averaging a solid 4.3 yards per carry on 39 attempts this season with two touchdowns on the ground. He has also graded out well as a pass-blocker. Like Tuten, Rodriguez has been difficult to bring down, bringing additional physicality to the backfield.
WR Jakobi Meyers: 71.9
An always steady target for Lawrence, Meyers has caught 20-of-28 passes for 285 yards with two touchdowns. His ability and willingness to attack the intermediate and middle areas of the field help open up the Liam Coen offense.
