A difficult matchup awaits the Jacksonville Jaguars' passing game in Week 3. However, Matt Okada of NFL.com still believes that wide receiver Parker Washington is a must-start.
Led by Christian Gonzalez, the Patriots' secondary is allowing just 5.2 yards per pass attempt this season, good for the fourth-best mark in the NFL.
But the reason that Okada has Washington as a must-start for this week is simple -- he's just that good.
"I should not have to write Washington's name in this column, but he was started in just 44.6% of ESPN leagues last week," Okada wrote. "Focus up! Washington is elite -- legitimately top 10 at the position -- and should start in 100% of leagues moving forward."
It's also worth mentioning that with Gonzalez primarily playing
outside, Washington could often avoid that matchup lining up in the slot.
Dating back to last season, Washington is on an impressive run. Over his last five games, he has eclipsed the 80-yard receiving mark, tying a franchise record in the process.
Washington is versatile, able to run a variety of routes, and he adds a YAC element to the offense, making him difficult to defend with the number of ways he can hurt a defense.
