Following the Jacksonville JaguarsWeek 3 win over New England, head coach Liam Coen provided an injury update on rookie defensive tackle Albert Regis.
Regis popped up on the injury report last Friday with an elbow injury. After being listed as doubtful for the matchup against the Patriots, Regis was ruled out on game day.
The injury, however, is not expected to be long-term, according to Coen. In fact, Regis could play this coming Sunday in Cincinnati.
"We'll have to look at what it looks like in practice this week," Coen said, via Jaguars.com. "It wasn't something that should be out more than this past game. We were kind of being smart with him this week. He could have gone."
Regis, a third-round pick by the Jaguars this past April, played 18 defensive
snaps through the first two weeks, recording one tackle.
Regis provides a secondary nose tackle option for the Jaguars behind DaVon Hamilton.
