The Jacksonville Jaguars are riding high after a dominating 42-7 win over the Indianapolis Colts. The victory over their division rival widens the Jaguars' lead in the AFC South, and Jacksonville is next headed to take on a Baltimore Ravens team severely hampered by injuries on Thursday Night Football for Week 9.
However, the Jaguars are dealing with some major injuries of their own, with two leaders on defense, Eric Murray and DaVon Hamilton, out for the rest of the season. The Week 9 matchup will also take place in Baltimore.
While the Jacksonville defense is dealing with some difficult injury news, the offense was on fire against the Colts, and the Ravens defense has struggled with consistency so far this season. It will also be more difficult for
Baltimore to play a strong complementary game, with the offense as banged-up as it is.
Where does all of this put the Jaguars in the power rankings for Week 9? Read on.

As their AFC South brethren break up their rosters, the Jags should be on autopilot to a second straight division title. Doesn't mean they don't have issues after losing two defensive starters, S Eric Murray and DT DaVon Hamilton, for the season Sunday.

They are one of two teams in the top-10 in scoring defense and scoring offense. They also lead the league in scoring margin. Losing valuable nose tackle DaVon Hamilton with a knee injury means a trade has to be made.
Conor Orr, SI.com: #3 (+5)
The loss of DaVon Hamilton is a killer for the Jaguars, who look so coldly efficient on offense and just need the horses on defense to keep them in games. Expect the Jaguars to go big game hunting at the DT position over the next week.

The Colts are a dead team walking and the Jaguars barely had to break a sweat to beat them yet delivered a thorough butt-kicking nonetheless. Jacksonville held star RB Jonathan Taylor to just 47 total yards and produced a defensive touchdown. It was a nice pick-me-up for a unit that struggled against the Texans before the bye. Additionally, QB Trevor Lawrence threw for three touchdowns, including one to forgotten WR Brian Thomas Jr. (perhaps as one last showcase before he’s traded). The Jags now have a chance to cruise for the next month before they open December in Chicago. They are for real.
Stat To Know: With their win over the Colts on Sunday, the Jaguars are 14-3 over their past 17 regular-season games (spanning from November 2, 2025 through November 1, 2026). This is their best regular-season record over a 17-game span since the 1999-2000 seasons.
Chad Graff and Josh Kendall, The Athletic: #6 (+2)
The Jags may be headed to the No. 1 seed in the AFC (they have the easiest remaining strength of schedule in the league, according to Tankathon), and they lead the NFL in point differential by a wide margin (85 to No. 2 San Francisco’s 58). Still, the haters will point out there aren’t a lot of impressive wins on their resume to this point.

Of the eight in-season trades in which the Jaguars acquired a player for immediate help, adding Meyers last season stands out. Brian Thomas Jr. was out because of an ankle injury, Travis Hunter was out for the season because of a knee injury, Dyami Brown was dealing with a shoulder injury, Parker Washington had yet to emerge, and the Jaguars led the NFL in drops (19) when they sent fourth- and sixth-round picks to Las Vegas the day before the deadline. Meyers' precise route running and sure-handedness sparked an offense that averaged 22 points before his arrival to averaging 33 points after he joined the team.
Brent Sobleski, Bleacher Report: #5 (+3)
The Jacksonville Jaguars dominated a down-and-out opponent in the Indianapolis Colts, which is exactly what Liam Coen's team should do as the AFC South's best squad.
Bhayshul Tuten continues to blossom into a legitimate lead back. The second-year ball-carrier set career-highs Sunday with 104 rushing yards and 55 receiving yards. His increased usage can take pressure off of quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Case in point, Lawrence became the first quarterback since the 2015 season to throw for three touchdowns despite attempting fewer than 15 passes.
Through the rest of November, the Jaguars can run away with the division since they face a Lamar Jackson-less Baltimore Ravens, the Tennessee Titans (twice) and a JJ McCarthy-led New York Giants in the coming weeks.

They caught the Colts at the perfect time, and they’re catching the Ravens at the perfect time.
