Jacksonville Jaguars' offensive lineman Cole Van Lanen was back on the practice field on Sunday after being activated from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.
Van Lanen had been sidelined all offseason after suffering a knee injury in Week 18 of last season.
In Van Lanen's return to practice, he took part in individual work, which will continue to be the case, at least for this week.
"All individual," Coen said of Van Lanen's workload on Sunday. "So, it'll just be all individual to get some of that work. He's got walkthroughs, jog-through stuff, but no team right now. No putting him in those positions. So when we do that stuff he's going to be with strength and conditioning, being able to get some of that work in."
Due to Van Lanen missing
so much time, a ramp-up period as he gets back into the mix is required. On the schedule this week for the Jaguars is a pair of joint practices with Tampa Bay and a preseason game.
Whether or not he will be available for the team's Week 1 matchup with the Cleveland Browns remains to be seen.
Without Van Lanen in the team periods on Sunday,John Shipley of Jaguars on SI noted that the offensive line unit consisted of Anton Harrison at left tackle, followed by Emmanuel Pregnon, Robert Hainsey, Ezra Cleveland, and Walker Little.
When Van Lanen is back to doing 11-on-11 work, he will take over at right tackle.
