Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. saw his role and opportunities decrease in last week's game against New England.
Thomas ended up playing just 23 offensive snaps -- the same amount as rookie Josh Cameron -- while Parker Washington and Jakobi Meyers each played 50 snaps. Thomas had only one target as well.
So how did Thomas respond in practice after the lack of snaps and targets? Quite well.
"I thought he had a great week," Liam Coen said, via Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union. "(He) had a really good day yesterday. Trev and he connected on a number of passes yesterday. Thought he has responded in a great way and continues to do so. We're going to need him. We're going to need all of these guys to obviously continue to make
plays for us on the perimeter. We need him to continue to do that."

Because of how last week's game unfolded for Thomas, there is once again speculation that teams will be checking in with the Jaguars about the wide receiver's availability via trade.
An emphasis this offseason was on building the rapport between Trevor Lawrence and Thomas, particularly on downfield throws. The chemistry between the two seemed to be trending in the right direction during training camp.
Through three games, Thomas has caught 7-of-11 passes for 88 yards -- averaging 12.6 yards per catch. He does have two drops, however.
Getting Thomas going will not only help create more explosive passing plays for the Jaguars' offense, but the attention he draws will open up opportunities for others in the passing game as well.
