The Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5 with a walk-off field goal from Cam Little. And while Little was undeniably one of the stars of the game, wide receiver Parker Washington was easily an MVP.
Washington had a breakout season in 2025, and has continued playing at a high level this year. While his performance was a bit quieter in Week 4, he had another big game against the Eagles in London, catching six passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns. The second touchdown in particular was especially dramatic, as Washington was able to pull off a one-handed 27-yard touchdown grab in the fourth quarter that put the Jaguars in the lead.
In a post-game press conference, quarterback Trevor Lawrence made it clear how much Jacksonville
values Washington's contributions.
"We consider him an elite wide receiver, so I don't know what everybody else thinks, but we feel like he's pretty freaking good," he said. "I think that's what's important, is what we believe in our team and the faith and trust that I have in him, that our whole team has in him. That's really all that matters. Everybody else on the outside will learn. It doesn't really matter what other people think."
Washington was a sixth-round pick who fought his way up from special teams, into one of Lawrence's most reliable and trusted targets. The chemistry Lawrence and Washington have has contributed to some of the biggest plays of the 2026 season, and it's at a more important time than ever, with Washington set to be a free agent in March. That chemistry is showing up in some of Jacksonville's biggest moments, and making it impossible for Jacksonville to not find a way to keep him here.
