Penalties, and a lot of them, nearly cost the Jacksonville JaguarsSunday's game in London against the Philadelphia Eagles.
From the jump, penalties were an issue. The game began with four offsetting penalties on the opening kickoff that nullified a Jacksonville touchdown.
Jacksonville finished the game with 13 total penalties for 100 yards. Perhaps the worst sequence of penalties for the Jaguars was on their nine-play drive in the fourth quarter as Jacksonville tried to take the lead as they were down 14-10.
Jacksonville got down to the one-yard line before offensive lineman Walker Little was called for a false start, which backed them up to the six. After the false start, running back Bhayshul Tuten had a two-yard run to make it second-and-goal
from the four-yard line.
Then, Jacksonville was called for delay of game. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence was visibly frustrated with the penalty.

After the delay of game, on second and goal, Lawrence threw it into the end zone, and it was caught by wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. but his second foot came down out of bounds. So, on third and goal from the nine, they were called for delay of game again, backing them up to the 14-yard line.
The Jaguars were able to get nine yards on third and goal, but still needed five yards to get to the end zone. Instead of attempting the field goal, they went for it on fourth down, and it was incomplete, turning the ball over on downs.
After the Jaguars' defense got a stop, the offense would score a touchdown on their next drive, but miss the extra point. The Jaguars had the lead but only by two points.
Jacksonville was not able to stop the Eagles from getting into field goal range, and Philadelphia made a 48-yard field goal to take a 17-16 lead with eight seconds left in the game.
On the ensuing kickoff, Ameer Abdullah returned it 53 yards to get the Jaguars in field goal range with a chance to win the game on a 57-yard field goal from Cam Little. He made the field goal to give Jacksonville a shocking 19-17 win.
