TheJacksonville Jaguars' Trevor Lawrence appeared just once inDan Orlovsky's ranking of NFL quarterbacks by traits.
Highlighting seven different quarterback traits -- arm strength, ball placement, mechanics, decision-making, pocket presence, second-reaction creativity and rushing ability -- Orlovsky ranked the top 10 quarterbacks in each category.
Lawrence's lone top 10 appearance came in the pocket presence category, coming in at No. 10, highlighting his ability to feel pressure, stay upright, and maneuver around the pocket as needed.
Despite Lawrence only making the top 10 once, he was mentioned by Orlovsky in four other categories as a player who was just one on the outside looking in, including arm strength.
"The one quarterback I really wanted
to get into the top 10 was Trevor Lawrence," Orlovsky wrote. "He also has some underrated arm talent and makes difficult throws look easy."
Decision-making, second-reaction creativity, and rushing ability were the other categories where Lawrence received an honorable mention.
"Lawrence is right on the cusp of so many," wrote Orlovsky. "I considered him for about half of these but just barely left him off. Just something to keep in mind as he enters Year 2 with coach Liam Coen."
During the second half of last season, as Lawrence's comfort in Liam Coen's system grew, he was one of the more productive quarterbacks in football and the offense was among the top-scoring units. A second season in Coen's scheme can provide Lawrence with a jumping-off point after he established a strong foundation in 2025.
