As good as the Jacksonville Jaguars' defense has been this season, there is one area where the Houston Texans' offense could exploit Anthony Campanile's unit.
According to ESPN, the Jaguars have surrendered 608 passing yards on throws of 15-plus yards downfield. Also of note, Jacksonville ranks 27th in yards per pass attempt allowed.
Texans' QB CJ Stroud, meanwhile, has been very willing to push the ball downfield this season. He is one of only two quarterbacks in 2026 with at least 45 pass attempts of 15 or more yards, per ESPN.
A favorite target of Stroud's is Nico Collins, who is averaging 14.9 yards per catch over his career. Houston has also added Marvin Harrison Jr. to the mix on offense as well.
As NFL insider Cameron Wolfe noted recently,
Campanile has deployed more man coverage looks this season to give his playmaking cornerbacks more opportunities on the ball. That approach, however, could also be why Jacksonville has surrendered more chunk plays as well.
While the play on the back end and Campanile's game plan for Houston will be important, so will the Jaguars' pass rush. Getting after Stroud will disrupt the timing and rhythm of the plays and mean less time in coverage for the defensive backs.
