Travis Hunter's role on offense was small in the Jacksonville Jaguars' Week 1 win over the Cleveland Browns. Could that change in Week 2 against Denver?
The vast majority of Hunter's snaps last week came at cornerback, while on offense, he played only four snaps. Given how training camp unfolded and the expectations that the Jaguars have for Hunter as a cornerback, this didn't come as a surprise.
Whether or not Hunter sees more opportunities at wide receiver this week remains to be seen, but head coach Liam Coen certainly seems to be open to the idea.
"You want to continue to do what we think is going to give us the best chance at winning throughout the course of the week," Coen said, via ESPN. "And if that's Travis getting more touches, then absolutely
will [get him more touches]."
Hunter's playing time on offense this season could ebb and flow from one week to the next, with the matchups and in-game situations dictating what his workload looks like.
With wide receiver being one of the deeper position groups on this Jaguars roster, it's not as if it's a must for Hunter to see snaps at that position. His greatest impact is going to come at cornerback.
As Coen said, ultimately, the team will go down whatever path gives the Jaguars the best chance to win, and from one week to the next, that could vary.
