The Jacksonville Jaguars won a wild game in London, defeating the Philadelphia Eagles, 19-17.
Here are our instant takeaways from their Week 5 performance.
- A wild start to this game, with Josh Cameron's kick return touchdown nullified due to a penalty. And on that same play, Jaguars' DE Bryan Thomas Jr. was ejected. That wild start then set the tone for the rest of the game.
- After a rare Cam Little miscue, he redeemed himself by hitting the game-winner, following a huge return by Ameer Abdullah.
- That said, there were a lot of mistakes elsewhere by the Jaguars in this game that proved to be a lot to overcome.
- A rough first offensive possession for the Jaguars that included two penalties and a forced fumble by Eagles' DT Jalen Carter. The one
running play went nowhere as well.
- Speaking of Carter, he gave the Jaguars' offensive line unit fits. Jacksonville is lucky they recovered both of those fumbles he forced.
- The Eagles' front overall was disruptive, which made moving the ball a challenge at times for the Jaguars' offense.
- A lack of early down success by the Jaguars' offense contributed to their inconsistent performance on third downs.
- With Eric Murray (concussion) out, Rayuan Lane got the start at safety next to Antonio Johnson. Rookie Jalen Huskey was also active for his first game.
- DaVon Hamilton's impact can fly under the radar, but he continues to play at a very high level this season.
- Another game and more explosive plays for Parker Washington. Dating back to last season, this has become a weekly norm.
- Against the Eagles' front, the Jaguars had no semblance of a run game to lean on, putting more pressure on the passing game.
- Penalties were again an issue. To state the obvious, that makes moving the ball and, for the defense, getting off the field all the more difficult.
- Being inefficient in the red zone took points off the board for the Jaguars' offense.
- Just a brutal first-and-goal sequence for the Jaguars' offense in the fourth quarter.

- Josh Cameron continues to impress, as he continues to make a regular impact each week.
- To mitigate the Eagles' pass rush, the Jaguars and Trevor Lawrence utilized the quick passing game often.
- The Jaguars' defense was again stingy, allowing just 22 rushing yards and 3.9 yards per play overall.
