Ahead of the 2026 regular season starting, ESPN's Dan Graziano put together his bold but realistic predictions for each NFL team. And his prediction for theJacksonville Jaguars -- of course -- centered around Travis Hunter.
"Don't be surprised if ... hybrid player Travis Hunter is pretty close to a full-time cornerback," Graziano wrote.
Graziano notes that with Hunter coming off a knee injury, the team will "be cautious about his overall workload this season."
He also adds that cornerback for the Jaguars is a greater need than wide receiver, which has Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington, and Jakobi Meyers at the top of the depth chart.
The Jaguars have remained adamant that Hunter will continue to play both ways, but the assumption has been that his
workload this season will be heavy on defense. The last week of training camp practices showcased that, with nearly all of Hunter's 11-on-11 snaps during that stretch coming at cornerback.
Hunter's snaps on offense could ebb and flow as the season goes on, with weekly matchups and in-game situations largely dictating how many wide receiver snaps he sees.
"The prediction here is that, while Hunter might evolve into more of a two-way NFL player in future years, Jacksonville will try to keep things simple for him as he works his way back from last year's season-ending injury," wrote Graziano.
