Through two games, what has Travis Hunter's workload looked like on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball for theJacksonville Jaguars?
As expected, the bulk of Hunter's snaps have come at cornerback, but let's take a closer look.
Travis Hunter's playing time at cornerback
Over two games, Hunter has played 66 total defensive snaps, which includes being a starter both weeks. According to Pro Football Reference, Hunter has played just 58% of the Jaguars' defensive snaps.
He hasn't been thrown at all that much, with just four targets coming his way, and while he's allowed three receptions, Hunter has limited pass-catchers to just 28 total yards. Hunter does have one pass breakup, but he was also penalized in the Denver game, which set the Broncos offense up inside the five-yard line.
The reason behind Hunter's modest snap count total on defense is that the Jaguars are rotating at the cornerback position, with Montaric Brown and Jarrian Jones seeing regular outside cornerback snaps as well.
And based on whatLiam Coen said on Monday, it doesn't sound like that rotation will be going anywhere soon.
Travis Hunter's playing time at wide receiver
Hunter's playing time at wideout has been very minimal, as he's seen just 11 total offensive snaps. This includes one reception near the line of scrimmage that he turned into an eight-yard gain.
With Hunter sharing snaps at cornerback and also seeing minimal opportunities at wide receiver, it does feel like there should be more snaps out there for him, whether that be taking on a larger role defensively or seeing more reps on offense. However, we will have to wait and see if that comes to fruition.
