Following the Jacksonville Jaguars' reported addition at safety, what does the current depth chart at this position look like?
According to Ian Rapoport, the Jaguars are signing veteran Kaevon Merriweather from the practice squad to the active roster. Merriweather was elevated for Sunday's game against Philadelphia, where he was the third safety, playing 21 defensive snaps, while also filling a special-teams-heavy role.
Once Eric Murray clears concussion protocol, he will be back to starting next to Antonio Johnson. In Murray's place on Sunday was Rayuan Lane, with Caleb Ransaw on IR.
Lane will then revert back to being the third safety after Murray returns, a role that still sees steady playing time in Anthony Campanile's scheme, while Merriweather
likely sees most of his snaps come on special teams.
Jalen Huskey's role will potentially remain quite small, and he may even continue to be inactive on Sundays.
