TheJacksonville Jaguars were in control from start to finish in their Week 9 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
With the clock having just hit zero, here are our instant takeaways from the Jaguars' performance.
- Against a third-string QB making his first NFL start, the Jaguars took care of business like they were supposed to in this one. In a tough road environment and against a team with plenty of talent, Liam Coen wasn't going to let his team overlook this matchup.
- Trevor Lawrence is playing some really good football over the last few weeks.
- Against the Ravens' defense, it was tough sledding in the run game for the Jaguars. This, in part, contributed to their third-down struggles, with the offense facing some longer down-and-distance situations.
- Nate Boerkircher continues to get more involved in the passing game.
- Another game, another explosive touchdown reception for Parker Washington. Jakobi Meyers had a good game as well.
- The Jacksonville defense was able to contain Derrick Henry, holding him to under 4.0 yards per rush. In part, the Jaguars were likely able to defend the line of scrimmage more aggressively with Joe Fagnano at quarterback.
- Cam Little was quite good once again.
- You could see the effects that the rain and weather had on the football, which led to a fumble and some incomplete passes.
- According to PFF's early tracking data, the offensive line held its own in pass protection.
- No targets for Brian Thomas Jr. as trade speculation swirls ahead of Tuesday's deadline.
- The Jaguars' pass rush was able to get after Fagnano at a decent rate, per PFF.
- At least on the initial viewing, there seemed to be a fair number of missed tackles by the Jaguars.
- The Jaguars were penalized only four times for 24 yards. Improvement over where this team had been penalty-wise in recent weeks.
