What is the story about?

The Jacksonville Jaguars will reportedly be without rookie defensive end Zach Durfee for at least the early portion of the season.

According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, the Jaguars are placing Durfee on injured reserve but are designating him to return.

Zenitz adds that Durfee has been dealing with an upper-body injury. He did not play in the preseason finale.

Durfee will now have to miss a minimum of four games.

Durfee was a seventh-round pick

in this past April's draft by Jacksonville. Throughout offseason programs and training camp, he was able to flash some of the upside that he possesses.

"He's showing up," Liam Coen said early on in training camp.

With Durfee on IR and not counting towards the initial 53-man roster, the Jaguars are reportedly keeping UDFA defensive end Bryan Thomas Jr.
