Quarterback Carter Bradley grew up with plenty of his mornings spent at Jacksonville Jaguars training camp when his father, Gus Bradley, was head coach. Years later, those memories take on new meaning as he takes to the field himself.
In a new interview, Bradley spoke about the surreal experience of returning to Jacksonville after spending part of his childhood there. He was signed to the Jaguars practice squad in September 2025, making this his first training camp with the team.
"I think, you know, last year on game day, it hit me a little bit more, just because that's where I spent most of the time. This wasn't here," he said of the Miller Electric Center. "I'm just walking through the halls and kind of smelling that, that aroma in there, brought
back just waking up with my dad coming in here at 5 a.m. for training camp. And now I'm out here doing it. So, man, it's such a blessing to be out here. What a great crew we have. It's going to be a great year."

Gus Bradley served as Jacksonville's head coach for three years, starting in 2013; Carter Bradley was 13 years old at the time. While Gus Bradley's tenure was largely a disaster, Carter Bradley has performed well so far in training camp and seems to have a lock on the QB3 position.
In theory, he could potentially surpass Nick Mullens for QB2, as Mullens has been inconsistent, but it would be a long shot; Bradley would need to turn in a near-perfect performance in training camp and the preseason, while Mullens would need to play terribly. That seems an unlikely scenario, as the Jaguars have a lot of respect for Mullens and the experience he brings to the position.
However, that doesn't mean Bradley hasn't carved out his own role, or earned any respect on his own accord. He had the responsibility last season of running the scout team offense against the Jaguars' first-team defense and has done so capably, so much so that he received high praise from defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile.
"He's a stud. He's awesome. He's been so good for us in terms of giving us the exact look -- even the communication of things at the line of scrimmage. He takes it so seriously. He's got great leadership qualities at the line of scrimmage, and you can see him driving the scout guys," Campanile said last season, adding, "He really does a great job of controlling the tempo of the practice, and giving us such an accurate look of, not only what the plays are gonna be, but the pre-snap process."
