Following the Jacksonville Jaguars' Week 4 win over Cincinnati, here is a look at which players received the best and worst PFF grades.
Now, before we dive into all that, I do want to mention that while PFF's grading system is certainly helpful at quantifying a player's performance, it is not the be-all and end-all when it comes to evaluations. It is one tool out of many that are out there and should be treated as such.
For some context around these grades, below is the grading scale.
- 39.9 or less: Poor
- 90.0+: Elite
- 80-89.9: High quality
- 70-79.9: Good
- 60-69.9: Above average
- 50-59.9: Average
- 40-49.9: Below average
Jaguars five highest-graded players on offense v. Bengals
- RB Bhayshul Tuten: 87.6
- WR Josh Cameron: 75.9
- TE Brenton Strange: 69.8
- QB Trevor Lawrence: 69.4
- WR Brian Thomas Jr.: 67.6
Tuten was again efficient with the ball in his hands, averaging 4.3 yards per rush on 17 carries. As he has done all season, he was quite good at making defenders miss, averaging 3.35 yards after contact with four missed tackles forced.
Jaguars five highest-graded players on defense vs. Bengals
- CB Travis Hunter: 86.4
- LB Foye Oluokun: 77.7
- DE Danny Striggow: 76.5
- LB Ventrell Miller: 74.7
- S Eric Murray: 68.8
Hunter went on to have a terrific
performance, allowing four receptions on seven targets for just 26 total yards. He also had two pass breakups and a passer rating of 58.2 when targeted.
Jaguars three lowest-graded players overall
- DE Bryan Thomas Jr.: 36.4
- CB Jarrian Jones: 40.4
- C Robert Hainsey: 43.2
Over 15 defensive snaps, Thomas Jr. didn't log a stat, according to PFF, and he was penalized once.
