Travis Hunter was excellent in the Jacksonville Jaguars' Week 4 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
With Montaric Brown sidelined due to an injury, there was no cornerback rotation. Hunter played all 76 defensive snaps and made the most of those additional opportunities.
According toPFF's early tracking data,
Hunter was targeted six times, but allowed just three receptions for a grand total of 21 yards. He also forced two pass breakups and had an interception wiped away by a penalty on Arik Armstead. Joe Burrow's passer rating when targeting Hunter was only 58.3.
In addition to his plays in coverage, Hunter also recorded three solo tackles.
“I just thought Trav balled today," Liam Coen said afterward, via Jason Hamby.
With Hunter playing such a heavy
workload on defense, he did not see any offensive snaps.
It's been reported that the Jaguars believe Hunter's ceiling at cornerback is sky-high, and we saw a glimpse of that in Sunday's win.
