On Monday, head coach Liam Coen broke down the play
and throw by Lawrence, calling the touchdown toss an "absolute dot.""That was a dot," Coen began. "I mean, that was an absolute dot through four defenders to trust Josh in that moment. He had Josh and Jakobi were kind of the either-or there. We scored on that exact play in the joint practice against Carolina and he threw it to Jakobi and the safety happened to be kind of leaning that way. Jakobi didn't have great leverage on the play and I thought
he did a really nice job coming off the action with his eyes adn then justg making the decision right now. No hesitation. Put that ball in only one spot that we can make the play and then Josh obviously being strong hands, protecting himself away from the safety on the throw. That was high level football. I mean, that's an NFL open touchdown, right? Like it's not always going to be wide open. People aren't always going to be screaming wide open in this league and to see that in Week 1 was extremely encouraging, especially for Josh's first catch."

Lawrence was excellent in the season opener, completing 18-of-23 passes for 245 yards with four touchdown passes.
