The Jacksonville Jaguars are riding a two-game win streak after defeating the New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals, but they are still in the thick of one of their toughest stretches of the season. The team will be headed to London next, where they will take on the Philadelphia Eagles, a game that will be tough for multiple reasons.
The Eagles, despite some struggles, are not going to be an easy team to beat. Jalen Hurts is still an elite quarterback working with Nick Sirianni, one of the best head coaches in the league, meaning it would be dangerous to ever underestimate the Philadelphia offense. The Eagles also have explosive playmakers and a physical defense, all of which can pose a real threat for the Jaguars.
On top of all this, both
teams will be traveling overseas, meaning they will be fighting travel fatigue as well. In a press conference, head coach Liam Coen spoke about how the team will be preparing for another tough game.
"It's a big week of mental toughness, a lot going on with the travel and the preparations, and leaning into those guys will be critical," he said of the Jaguars' team captains. "Obviously, everybody being on the same page and understanding what the schedule is before going out there. We talked about that today, and getting ahead of some of the things regarding Friday in terms of, hey, they're going to be fatigued and tired when we get over there, and trust that we'll take care of you guys and do what's right by you during the week. But we're going to need some mental toughness throughout this week to go out there and make sure that we're physically and mentally prepared to go play this physical game on Sunday against Philly."
For Jacksonville, the challenge this week will be making sure the disruption of an international trip does not hinder their performance once game day arrives.
