The Jacksonville Jaguars' pass rush depth was one of the big question marks for this team entering training camp.
While Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker form an extremely strong duo at the top of the depth chart, how the rotational snaps behind them would shake out and whether or not that secondary unit could provide steady pressure were unknowns.
Rather than opting to bring in a veteran presence to bolster the depth, the Jaguars have instead relied on their young pass rushers. And while early, the move seems to be paying off.
During Friday's practice in particular, BJ Green and Zach Durfee were two of the Jaguars' standout performers.
According to Jamal St. Cyr, who posted 11-on-11 reps on X, Green had multiple "sacks" on the day, along with
a few tackles for loss. Durfee had a pair of "sacks" himself, and in previous practices, has made plays in the run game.
After Thursday's practice, Liam Coen shared what he's seen from the pass rush duo.
"They've continued to do that throughout the course of the last few practices," said Coen. "Durf had a good rush the other day, backed up -- it would have been a 99-yard touchdown and ended up being a safety. He's showing up. BJ's continued to show up in both the run and the pass, so I've been pleased with those guys."
Also in the mix for playing time are Danny Striggow and Wesley Williams. Striggow has provided a steady presence throughout camp, while Williams brings a well-rounded skill set to the mix, not to mention that the Jaguars love his play style.
More consistent pass rush production around Hines-Allen and Walker at this heavily rotated position can help take the Jaguars' defense to a new level in 2026.
