Following the Jacksonville Jaguars' Week 3 win over New England, here is a look at which players received the best and worst PFF grades.
Now, before we dive into all that, I do want to mention that while PFF's grading system is certainly helpful at quantifying a player's performance, it is not the be-all and end-all when it comes to evaluations. It is one tool out of many that are out there and should be treated as such.
For some context around these grades, below is the grading scale.
- 39.9 or less: Poor
- 90.0+: Elite
- 80-89.9: High quality
- 70-79.9: Good
- 60-69.9: Above average
- 50-59.9: Average
- 40-49.9: Below average
Jaguars' 5 highest-graded players v. Patriots
- LT Anton Harrison: 89.3
- WR Jakobi Meyers: 79.9
- WR Parker Washington: 77.3
- RB Chris Rodriguez: 74.0
- RB Bhayshul Tuten
Meyers and Washington led the Jaguars in receiving, while both also found the end zone. The run game, led by Tuten and Rodriguez, was very efficient. Harrison allowed only one quarterback pressure.
Jaguars' 5 lowest-graded players v. Patriots
- DT DaVon Hamilton: 87.7
- DE Josh Hines-Allen: 83.9
- LB Branson Combs: 81.7
- LB Ventrell Miller: 75.0
- S Eric Murray: 69.0
Hamilton was again productive, logging a sack while continuing to be
a force in the run game. Hines-Allen had one pressure but graded out very well in the run game. Combs and Miller allowed a combined 25 yards in coverage on six targets. Murray's grade was bolstered by his performance in the run game.
Jaguars' 3 lowest-graded players vs. Patriots
- RB Ameer Abdullah: 41.0
- TE Nate Boerkircher: 45.5
- RT Cole Van Lanen: 46.7
Abdullah played only seven snaps, and it was his pass-blocking grade that lowered his overall grade. Boerkircher was 0-for-1 when targeted and penalized once. Van Lanen allowed three pressures and a sack.
