The Indianapolis Colts (0-1) and the Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) meet for Sunday Night Football in Week 2 at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC). Let's analyze NFL odds around the Colts vs. Chiefs odds and make our expert NFL picks and predictions for the best bets.
The Colts lead the all-time series 18-11-0, including 2 of the past 3 meetings. The Colts are 6-2 against the spread (ATS) in the past 8 since 2012.
Indianapolis suffered a 41-23 loss against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, while catching 2.5 points with the Over (47.5) hitting. RB Jonathan Taylor rushed 98 yards with 2 TDs, while TE Tyler Warren had the team's only receiving touchdown from QB Daniel Jones (19 of 31, 166
yards, 1 INT).
Kansas City blasted AFC West rival Denver Broncos 31-10 on Monday Night Football, covering easily as a 2.5-point favorite as the Under (42.5) hit. QB Patrick Mahomes posted 184 yards and 2 passing TDs, with 1 rushing score in his first game back from an ACL injury last December. Colts at Chiefs picks and predictions
Prediction
Chiefs 27, Colts 17
Moneyline
The Chiefs (-285) will set you back nearly 3 times your potential return, and that is way too much risk for not nearly enough reward. Even as part of a multi-leg parlay, including Kansas City makes no sense.
PASS.
Against the spread
Take CHIEFS -6 (-110), as Mahomes looked like himself, which is absolutely miraculous considering he returned from ACL suffered just in December. Every time he runs, fans, bettors and the coaches will be holding their breath.
However, he looked good, and Walker was strong in the run game against a very good Broncos defense in Week 1. Kansas City has so many offensive weapons, and it looks like a contender again.
Over/Under
UNDER 46.5 (-110) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play tops.
The Colts lean heavily upon the run game with Taylor, and it's apparent that the Chiefs have a strong run game now with Walker. Running keeps the clock moving, which Under bettors love.
