The Dallas Cowboys (1-2) and Houston Texans (0-3) meet Sunday for a Week 4 in-state battle. Kickoff from Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, is set for 1 p.m. ET (FOX). Let's analyze NFL odds around the Cowboys vs. Texans odds and make our expert NFL picks and predictions for the best bets.
The Cowboys, playing in Brazil, lost to the Baltimore Ravens 34-31 last Sunday yet covered as a 3.5-point underdog with the Over (54.5) cashing. QB Dak Prescott ended with 276 passing yards but just 1 touchdown. Dallas has struggled early on in the season, having allowed at least 28 points in 2 of its 3 games. Despite that, its offense has done enough to cover twice, tallying at least 31 points in 2 straight contests. The Cowboys are 2-1 against the spread
(ATS) and 3-0 O/U.
The Texans are surprisingly among the 5 NFL teams that have yet to win a game. They lost 19-17 on the road against the Indianapolis Colts Sunday, failing to cover as a 1.5-point favorite. The Under (42.5) hit. Houston's offense has been absent for most of the season, scoring just 23 points across its last 2 games. QB C.J. Stroud had just 3 touchdowns. The Texans will hope to flip that script against a susceptible Cowboys pass defense. Houston is 0-3 ATS and 1-2 O/U.

Cowboys at Texans picks and predictions
Prediction
Texans 27, Cowboys 23
Moneyline
PASS.
Avoid this play. The Texans (-160) should come out on top at home but are too expensive to consider here.
Against the spread
BET TEXANS -3 (-110).
The Texans have one of the best pass rushes in the NFL, and the Cowboys rank love to throw the ball. Dallas doesn't run the ball well and if Houston can get to Prescott often, the Cowboys may struggle to move the ball much at all.
Dallas' defense has also been atrocious this season, allowing at least 20 points in all 3 games and at least 28 points twice. The Cowboys likely would've allowed much more against the Washington in Week 2 had Commanders QB Jayden Daniels not been injured right before halftime. The Texans offense has struggled to capitalize, but this could be the week Stroud and company get their break and figure things out.
Over/Under
BET OVER 48.5 (-108).
The Cowboys are going to live or die by Prescott, so they'll be throwing the ball often, which should elongate the game and allow for more scoring. Dallas is 3-0 O/U on the season and averaged 34 points in its last 2 games.
Houston put up 31 points in its season-opening loss to the Buffalo Bills, so it can score when opposing offenses require the Texans to play fast. Stroud will get a much easier matchup as the Cowboys rank 31st in opponents' completion percentage (72.62%).
Best prop bet
COWBOYS QB DAK PRESCOTT UNDER 266.5 PASSING YARDS (-115)
The Cowboys, with the Texans potentially short 2 starting linebackers, could look to put the ball on the ground more, especially against a few of the top cornerbacks in the NFL. Prescott has yet to throw for more than 280 yards this season. Combine all those factors and take Prescott to go Under here.
