The Cleveland Browns and the Jacksonville Jaguars meet Sunday for Week 1 at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (CBS). Let's analyze NFL odds around the Browns vs. Jaguars odds and make our expert NFL picks and predictions for the best bets.
The Jaguars lead the all-time series 12-8, but the Browns have made inroads with 3 consecutive victories in the series. The Browns won 18-13 at EverBank Stadium on Sept. 15, 2024, as well as their previous trip on Nov. 29, 2020 (27-25). Jacksonville's last win in the series came on Nov. 19, 2017, a 19-7 victory in Cleveland. While the Browns have covered the past 2, the Jaguars are 4-2 against the spread (ATS) in the past 6 in the series. The Over is 2-1 in Cleveland's
3-game win streak in the series.
Jacksonville won the AFC South last season with 13 victories, including a 7-2 mark at home. The Jags also had a plus-138 point differential, the second-best mark in the AFC.
Cleveland traded 2-time Defensive Player of the Year DE Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams this summer, receiving DE Jared Verse and a host of draft picks in return. The offensive line was completely rebuilt, and it's the first time since 1990 that the Browns have 5 new starters along the O-line. Cleveland spent the No. 9 overall pick in the first round on OT Spencer Fano out of the University of Utah, while also spending another first-round pick on WR KC Concepcion, and a second-round pick on WR Denzel Boston.
First-year head coach Todd Monken named QB Deshaun Watson as the winner of a much-publicized battle for the starting job with QB Shedeur Sanders, and Watson enters the fifth and final year of a massive 5-year contract that turned out to be a huger overpay, looking to finish on a high note in Cleveland.

Browns at Jaguars picks and predictions
Prediction
Jaguars 24, Browns 16
Moneyline
The Jaguars (-450) are probably going to be a popular survivor pool pick this week, but you can't take Jacksonville and risk 4 1/2 times your potential return. That's way too much risk for not enough return.
PASS.
Against the spread
Back BROWNS +9 (-108), as that's a lot of points in a Week 1 matchup.
Again, Cleveland has somehow, some way, won 3 straight meetings in this series. A flat 9 is a strange number you don't see very often, and if this gets to double digits, go a little more aggressively.
Over/Under
Oddly enough, I expect this to come down right on the number, so the first inclination is to AVOID. If I had to make a pick, I'd lean low, based on Cleveland's past offensive struggles.
Best prop bet
QUINSHON JUDKINS - UNDER 56.5 RUSHING YARDS (-118) is worth a look in the opener. He suffered a fractured fibula and dislocated ankle late last season, so he is coming back from a major injury. He is healthy, and ready to go, but he will face the NFL's top-ranked rushing defense in 2025, as he looks to get back into game action. It's a super-tough matchup.
