The No. 1 Texas Longhorns (4-0, 1-0 SEC) and the Oklahoma Sooners (2-2, 0-1) will do battle Saturday in the 122nd "Red River Rivalry" at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET (ABC). Let's analyze college football odds around the Texas vs. Oklahoma odds and make our expert college football picks and predictions for the best bets.
Both teams enter this historic game coming off a bye week. Texas will count every win the same, but their last outing saw them skating on thin ice against the No. 14 Tennessee Volunteers. The Longhorns, led by QB Arch Manning, held on for a 20-17 win by holding off a late push by the Vols which included an onside kick recovery. While Manning's name precedes him, it was the Texas defense
stealing the show with 10 sacks and 12 TFLs against Tennessee. That effort was led by Texans EDGE Colin Simmons, who had 5.5 sacks, 5.5 TFLs and a forced fumble.
Sitting at .500, Oklahoma needs this win more. The Sooners would be right back in the thick of the playoff picture with an upset, but offense has been lacking. After an opening day 51-0 thrashing of the UTEP Miners, Oklahoma has failed to put up more than 14 points in each of their last 3 games, including a 41-13 loss to the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs last time out Sept. 26.
Texas enters undefeated, but only 1-3 against the spread (ATS), including missing it the past 3 with the Under hitting in all 3 of those as well. Oklahoma mirrors Texas ATS, but after the Under hit in their first 3 games, the Over total hit against Georgia (43.5).
Texas leads the Red River Rivalry 65-51-5, holding a 2-game winning streak, including last year's 23-6 upset against then No. 6 Oklahoma.

Texas A&M at Missouri picks and predictions
Prediction
Texas 27, Oklahoma 17
Moneyline
PASS.
I would not recommend taking Texas (-325) on the moneyline at these odds. I'll take the Longhorns to cover the spread.
Against the spread
BET TEXAS -7.5 (-110).
Taking the points for the underdog in a rivalry game is always appealing, but we're going against the grain here.
This rivalry has some extra juice to it and Texas is the team more likely to seize it. While unbeaten, the Longhorns will feel like they have something to prove on offense. There is no better time to prove something to yourself than against one of your biggest rivals while sitting at the top of the college football world.
Over/Under
BET OVER 39.5 (-110).
Similarly, a rivalry like this deserves the Over. Oklahoma has to come out of their slump on offense at some point, right? The Sooners put up 13 points against the No. 2 team in the nation in their last time out so it's feasible to think they could add a few more to that, whether it be on offense or thanks to a turnover which pushes this one Over the relatively low points total.
