The Los Angeles Rams (4-4) and Washington Commanders (2-4-1) will square off in Week 9 as both teams search for much-needed wins on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff from Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, is at 1 p.m. ET. (FOX). Let's analyze NFL odds around the Rams vs. Commanders odds and make our expert NFL picks and predictions for the best bets.
After starting the season 2-4, the Rams have won their last two games, beating the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers. They overcame a slow start against the Chargers last week and scored 21 unanswered points to win 24-9 at home. They've gained the fourth-most yards of any team and have allowed the fifth-fewest in the NFL, but special teams and poor red zone execution have cost them points.
The Commanders came out of their Week 7 bye to beat the Philadelphia Eagles last week, 27-10, on Sunday night. It snapped an 0-2-1 stretch for the Commanders before their bye, keeping their hopes alive in the underwhelming NFC East. They held the Eagles to just 268 total yards as they cruised to a 17-point win against a banged-up Philadelphia team.

Rams at Commanders picks and predictions
Prediction
Rams 27, Commanders 20
Moneyline
As disappointing as the Rams have been this year, it's easy to see why they're favored. They still have QB Matthew Stafford, WR Puka Nacua, DT Aaron Donald and 2 dynamic backs in Kyren Williams and Blake Corum. Furthermore, OLB Myles Garrett is expected to play after missing the last 7 games.
What makes this matchup even more concerning for the Commanders is the fact that two of their best defensive linemen, Kinlaw and Payne, are both out. That could lead to big days from both Williams and Corum. Look for the Rams to lean on the run and move the ball methodically down the field against a banged-up Commanders defense.
PASS on the ML but bet on the spread instead.
Against the spread
The Commanders are a tough out, playing better than their record indicates. QB Jayden Daniels' mobility could give the Rams fits, but the Commanders lack a reliable run game and without WR Terry McLaurin, their passing attack is limited, too.
While Los Angeles' depth at cornerback is thinning with McDuffie questionable, the pass rush will be upgraded with Garrett returning to play alongside Donald. And even on the road with an early kickoff, the Rams will be ready and prepared for this game.
BET RAMS -4.5 (-108).
Over/Under
The Rams have been winning with a consistent formula the last two weeks: run the ball and play sound defense. They've only given up 2 touchdowns in the last 2 games and have done a great job maintaining possession with a ground-and-pound offense that moves the chains and wears defenses down.
This shouldn't be a shootout and is more likely to go under the total of 47.5 points, given the quality of Los Angeles' defense and some of Washington's offensive limitations.
BET UNDER 47.5 (-110).
Best prop bet
WASHINGTON TE CHIG OKONKWO UNDER 34.5 RECEIVING YARDS (-115)
The Rams have been excellent against tight ends this season thanks to the play of DB Quentin Lake and their other safeties. Okonkwo is capable of making a big catch downfield for a sizable gain, but the Rams do a good job limiting explosives.
