The Colorado Buffaloes face the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in each team's respective season opener Thursday. Kickoff from Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field in Atlanta, Georgia, is set for 8 p.m. ET (ESPN). Let's analyze college football odds around the Colorado at Georgia Tech odds and make our expert college football picks and predictions for the best bets.
Coach Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes had a miserable 2025, going 3-9 overall and 1-8 in the Big 12. This season provides promise on the arm of redshirt-freshman QB Julian "JuJu" Lewis, a highly touted, 5-star recruit. Lewis played 4 games last season and was 52 for 94 for 589 yards, 4 TDs and no INTs. RB Richard Young leads the backfield after playing sparingly in 2025 for Alabama. The
transfer had 23 carries for 64 yards and 2 TDs on the ground in 5 games.
Georgia Tech had a solid 2025, finishing 9-4 overall and 6-2 in the ACC. They welcome No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft Fernando Mendoza's brother, Alberto Mendoza, who transferred from Indiana. He is an accurate, mobile quarterback that could open eyes as a junior. A player to watch is junior DE Noah Carter, who transferred from Alabama. He had 9 tackles in 11 games last season, but has the potential to be one of the better edge rushers in the country.

Colorado at Georgia Tech picks and predictions
Prediction
Georgia Tech 34, Colorado 14
Moneyline
There's no play here as Tech is far too expensive to consider at home.
PASS.
Against the spread
Colorado went 4-7-1 ATS last season, and Georgia Tech went 7-6. This one could get steamed up even more before kickoff, but I love GEORGIA TECH -6.5 (-110). Mendoza learned behind his brother in winning the National Championship and is ready to make his own mark. It starts here.
Over/Under
Tech is 7-3 O/U in their last 10, and Colorado is 5-5. What this boils down to is both teams will probably stay on the ground a lot, which will constantly move the clock. I also don't see Colorado putting up a lot of points on Tech's defense. As such, go UNDER 51.5 (-110).
Best prop bet
Mendoza rushed 13 times for 190 yards (14.6 yards per carry) last year at Indiana, so I love ALBERTO MENDOZA OVER 25+ RUSHING YARDS (-165). If an O/U total for rushing yards appears, I'd go up to Over 32.5.
