The Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0) and New England Patriots (0-1) square off Sunday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (CBS). Let's analyze NFL odds around the Steelers vs. Patriots odds and make our expert NFL picks and predictions for the best bets.
Mike McCarthy won his debut as Steelers coach as Pittsburgh (-6.5) held off the visiting Atlanta Falcons 20-13 (Under 40.5) in their season opener. LB T.J. Watt had the winning score, rumbling 35 yards after an interception early in the fourth quarter. The Steelers intercepted Falcons QB Cooper Rush (12 of 22, 143 yards, 1 TD) twice and sacked him 4 times. Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers had a solid, if unspectacular afternoon, completing 24 of 40 passes for
221 yards and a TD to TE Pat Friermuth. RB Jaylen Warren had 46 yards on 10 carries as the Steelers were held to 58 yards rushing.
Patriots QB Drake Maye threw 3 fourth quarter interceptions as visiting New England (+3.5) fell to the Seattle Seahawks 13-10 (Under 43.5) in a rematch of Super Bowl LX in Week 1. The Patriots led 10-3 entering the fourth quarter, but the Seahawks and QB Drew Lock, who entered the game in the first quarter after starting QB Sam Darnold injured his hip on the opening drive, were able to turn the first two turnovers into 10 points and the lead. Maye had the Patriots in position to tie the game with at least a FG attempt in final minute, but was intercepted in the end zone with 26 seconds left. Maye finished the night 23 of 33 for 178 yards and also had a TD pass. WR A.J. Brown had 3 catches for 26 yards in his Patriots debut, but left with an ankle injury in the 3rd quarter.
The Patriots lead the all-time series 19-17, but the Steelers won 21-14 at New England last season on Sept. 21, 2025. The Steelers prevailed despite being held to 203 total yards (139 passing, 64 rushing) as they forced 5 turnovers to earn their first victory in Foxborough since 2008. Maye was 28 of 37 for 268 yards and 2 TDs, but also threw an INT and lost a fumble. Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson also fumbled twice in the loss. Rodgers was 16 of 23 for 139 yards with 2 TDs and 1 INT.

Steelers at Patriots picks and predictions
Prediction
Patriots 20, Steelers 16
Moneyline
PASS.
This is a situation where I could pick the Patriots to win straight up and take the points for the Steelers against the spread, but I don't like to bet over -200, so I'll pass on the moneyline.
Against the spread
BET STEELERS +5 (-108).
Both defenses impressed in Week 1 while the offenses struggled to sustain drives. I expect more of the same this week in a likely defensive struggle. The Steelers won in New England last season, but while I don't expect them to repeat that performance this year, I do think they should keep it close.
Over/Under
BET UNDER 41.5 (-110).
The total hit 35 in last year's matchup and I didn't really see anything in Week 1 to make me think these teams are going to be flying over that number this year.
BEST PROP BET
BET DK METCALF - MOST RECEIVING YARDS (+125 HARD ROCK BET)
Seattle's top receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba was targeted 11 times and grabbed 8 balls for 122 yards in the opener vs. the Patriots. Pittsburgh's top receiver will be targeted similarly by Rodgers. While Metcalf only caught 4 passes for 40 yards against the Falcons, he was targeted 10 times. He should have similar opportunities vs. New England.
