Oklahoma, which last season went 4-0 ATS in 4 true road games, returns a lot of defensive snap counts from last fall when the Sooners ranked seventh in the nation with 15.5 points allowed per game. Last week vs. UTEP, OU logged impressive efficiency and defensive-havoc numbers.
That havoc could be key. Many are assuming Michigan will not endure turnover problems like it did in Week 1, but Underwood's decision-making does not engender confidence. And OU got better and better in forcing turnovers in the second half of the 2025 season.
And do the Sooners even need to be a turnover plus to win this game by a TD? Last season, OU scored touchdowns on 71.4% of its red-zone visits; that ranked fifth in the SEC. On defense, Oklahoma led the SEC in that same category, allowing just a 41.9% mark. In last year's game vs. Michigan, the Wolverines reached the red zone twice; the Wolverines came away with just one 3-pointer.
UM's early-down offense vs. OU's early-down defense also figures as another green check mark in the visitors column. The Wolverines rushed for just 106 yards last week; if they can't generate some 4- and 5-yard gains on first down, they figure to be playing this one from behind. As they were against a MAC team last week.
Over the last two seasons, coach Kyle Whittingham's Utah teams played 5 games lined at 6 points or less either way. The Utes went 1-4 ATS in those contests.

Last year's meeting in Norman cashed on the Under (43.5). The combined 37 points scored in that one included a UM field goal after an 8-yard drive and a late field goal by Oklahoma.
Its reasonable to assume Michigan will not be in a hurry to play this one out with a lot of snaps. Whittingham's Utah teams played 15 pre-October games over the past 3 seasons; the Under went 11-4 in those games.
The best unit on the field will be the Sooners defense. The Ann Arbor weather forecast is calling for a double-digit (miles per hour) breeze; that could impact the aerial attacks.
The UNDER 43.5 (-108) is the value side here.
