Volkanovski is once again trying to make history in the featherweight class. The 38-year-old is looking to win his ninth featherweight title fight, which would break a tie with Jose Aldo. Volkanovski actually topped Aldo in a bout back in 2019. Volkanovski is looking to tie Aldo with 7
title defense victories, too.
After an ill-fated move up to the lightweight division, losing 3 times, Volkanovski is back dominating at featherweight. He stopped Diego Lopes in back-to-back title fights via unanimous decisions -- UFC 314 (April 2025) and UFC 325 (January 31, 2026). Now, he sets his sights on the unbeaten Russian fighter Evloev.
Evloev has been super consistent, winning all 10 of his fights at the UFC level via decision -- 8 by unanimous decision, 1 split decision and 1 majority decision. His defeated Lerone Murphy in his last a bout, a Fight Night event March 21, 2026, by way of majority decision back.
Evloev has a slight 1-inch reach advantage, while stepping into the octagon 6 years younger. Volkonovski has a 5.99-to-3.91 significant strikes landed per minute advantage. However, Evloev is slightly more accurate on those strikes at 62.48%, to 59.97% for the reigning champ.
On takedown average, Evloev really knows how to wow the judges, posting a 4.78 mark in the category to just 1.63 for the Aussie. Evloev is much more accurate with a 52.58% takedown-accuracy percentage, to just 34.02% for Volkanovski. On submission average, the difference is negligible, with Volkanovski at 0.20, and Evloev at 0.19.

I like VOLKANOVSKI (-115) to keep his strap and make history. Evloev (-105) is a tough customer. For Volkanovski to keep his belt, he'll have to wow the judges, which is something Evloev has been good at in his career.
Volkanovski has been around, though. He knows how to work it. To be successful, he'll need to stay upright and avoid getting put on his back, allowing Evloev to get him up against the fence.
In addition, I like VOLKANOVSKI (+175) BY DECISION/TECHNICAL DECISION for the chance to nearly double up. Evloev has 10 fights at the UFC level and 10 decisions, so we're unlikely to see a stoppage. Whichever fighter you decide to back, you'll should take them to win on points.
Over/Under
Yes (-275): Fight to go the distance will cost 2.75 times the potential return. That's too much risk for a singular play. However, if you were to fold it into a multi-leg parlay with at least 4 or 5 ends, especially with a boost or promo, that would be OK.
