The Miami Dolphins (0-5) and New York Jets (2-4) square off at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New York, Sunday for an AFC East battle. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (CBS). Let's analyze NFL odds around the Dolphins vs. Jets odds and make our expert NFL picks and predictions for the best bets.
Frankly, the Dolphins are a mess this season as many expected in 2026. If Miami plans to get out of the basement of the AFC East at any point, it starts here. QB Malik Willis was a roll of the dice by the Dolphins to see if the potential previously shown with the Green Bay Packers could work. The season-ending injury to RB De’Von Achane (knee) has not helped, but Willis hasn't been very good, with only 2 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.
The Dolphins
have made game closer recently, at least. Miami's last 2 losses to the tunes of 31-24 and 15-10 finals against the Cincinnati Bengals and Minnesota Vikings, respectively. In another plus, the Dolphins did beat the Jets in both divisional matchups a year ago.
While a 2-4 record symbolizes a "same old Jets" start to the year, this New York team is much more competitive. Head coach Aaron Glenn has had questionable decisions in terms of game management, but taking over play calling this season has helped a unit that does not have a headline name on it. That said, No. 2 overall pick DE David Bailey (5 sacks, 5 TFL, 3 forced fumbles) has consistently flashed promise.
What has been under a microscope for years in New York is the offense. The Jets have looked much steadier there in 2026 with QB Geno Smith at the helm. WR Garrett Wilson (35 catches, 418 yards, 3 TDs) has been up-and-down, but RB Breece Hall (quad) returning to the lineup will only help the cause.
The Jets followed a win against the Cleveland Browns with a dud against the New England Patriots in a 26-19 loss last week. The contest was close and the Jets covered (+7.5) because of a late score followed by a missed onside kick attempt.
The Dolphins lead the all-time series 63-57-1 over the Jets and have won 8 of the past 10. Miami is 1-4 against the spread this season and 2-3 on the points. New York is 4-2 ATS and 2-4 on points totals in 2026.

Dolphins at Jets picks and predictions
Prediction
Jets 24, Dolphins 13
Moneyline
PASS.
The Jets don't have any juice at all on the moneyline at home this week.
Against the spread
BET JETS -4.5 (-110).
As much as the Dolphins will want to get out of the basement of the division, the writing is already on the wall while the Jets are still motivated with some hope for 2026 heading into this one. Glenn is a positive motivator as a team leader and won't let his players forget being swept by this Dolphins team a year ago.
Over/Under
BET UNDER 39 (-110).
Combined, these two teams are 4-11 on point totals this season and there are few to no signs pointing to toward that changing on Sunday. The Jets are the sixth-worst scoring offense this season at a 18.7 PPG clip, meanwhile, the Dolphins are tied for dead last at 14.0.
BEST PROP BET
BET BREECE HALL ANYTIME TD (+105)
The Dolphins have allowed an NFL high 5 receiving touchdowns to opposing running backs this season. While only allowing 3 on the ground, this points toward more involvement for Hall against Miami and he'll be chomping at the bit to get in the end zone in his return from injury.
