The Los Angeles Chargers (0-5) and Kansas City Chiefs (4-0) square off at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, on Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS). Let's analyze NFL odds around the Chargers vs. Chiefs odds and make our expert NFL picks and predictions for the best bets.
The main headline coming into this one: the Chargers swept the Chiefs in AFC West play last season.
We're just being cheeky, but these divisional foes are both in the NFL spotlight right now for very different reasons than how their rivalry played out in 2025.
The Chargers head into Sunday reeling more than any other team in the league, still in search of their first win of the season. QB Justin Herbert has five touchdowns, seven interceptions and a brutal
70.2 passer rating this year. But it's not all on Herbert as much as the headlines are jumping on him for off-field reasons.
The Bolts have dealt with serious injury issues throughout the start of the year. LA is fresh off a 23-17 loss to the Denver Broncos, who leave plenty to be desired on offense. Like that outing, the Chargers will be behind the eight ball in terms of health again as their top two offensive linemen, OT Rashawn Slater (ankle) and OT Joe Alt (neck) are both out. Add S Derwin James (hamstring) onto the line for good measure, too.
Considering that injury report and recent play, Kansas City looks like a difficult opponent for the Chargers because the Chiefs are undefeated and flying high. QB Patrick Mahomes (1,037 yards, 9 TD, 2 INT) looks back to his old self post-injury, meanwhile, RB Kenneth Walker (537 yards, 6 total TD) has fit in seamlessly.
Add to that, the Chiefs after coming off their bye week. Head coach Andy Reid's 22-5 career record after bye is often noted.
Can the Chargers pull off the biggest of upsets?
While unbeaten, the Chiefs have only covered the spread twice and hit the Over twice. Like their overall record, the Chargers are 0-5 against the spread and have had the Under hit in all but one game in 2026.

Chargers at Chiefs picks and predictions
Prediction
Chiefs 30, Chargers 14
Moneyline
PASS.
There is no juice at all for taking the Chiefs outright in this one.
Against the spread
BET CHIEFS -7.5 (-105).
In a divisional matchup, a touchdown spread is rare for good reason. These teams know each other well and it's usually a battle throughout. This one does not look like it is shaping up that way, however. Not only are the Chiefs excellent off a bye week under Reid, but the Chargers' health is going to factor in big time. Los Angeles isn't dealing with just injuries -- these are injuries to key players for an already struggling team.
Over/Under
BET OVER 41.5 (-105).
The Chiefs are going to have to carry this one but there is good reason to believe that they will. Still, the Bolts should get just enough points to get this one over the line, too. LA has put up just 16.8 points per game, but a similar total should just be enough.
BEST PROP BET
BET PATRICK MAHOMES 2+ PASS TD (+100)
Walker has been eating up yards and touchdowns for the Chiefs. Mahomes won't mind that. But a disheartened team across from Mahomes without their All-Pro safety screams that this one will have a solid chance to hit.
