Expectations remain high with 2-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson at quarterback and RB Derrick Henry in the backfield, giving Baltimore enough star power to remain a contender in the AFC.
Indianapolis
also finished 8-9 last season and missed the playoffs for the fifth straight season. The Colts started 8-2 before losing their final 7 games and finishing third in the AFC South. QB Daniel Jones suffered a torn Achilles after previously playing through a fractured fibula, ending his season in the Colts' 13th game. Now, Indianapolis enters 2026 looking to rebound from one of the biggest second-half collapses in NFL history last season.

Against the spread
BET RAVENS -3.5 (-102).
The Minter era starts on the road, but having Jackson and Henry makes the transition a whole lot easier. Baltimore’s new offense under Declan Doyle should have opportunities against a Colts defense that took a beating during the 0-7 collapse to finish last season. That puts Ravens -3.5 firmly on my Week 1 card. Indianapolis still has RB Jonathan Taylor and some offensive weapons, but Baltimore’s defense should be more aggressive under Minter, with S Kyle Hamilton leading the way. Jones will need to avoid mistakes while also keeping pace with Jackson on the other side.
There’s some risk backing a new coaching staff in its first game, but Baltimore has the better quarterback, more offensive firepower and enough defensive talent to pull away.
Over/Under
BET UNDER 48 (-110).
Week 1 isn’t always the time to expect offensive fireworks, especially with Baltimore installing a new system. That makes Under 48 my preferred angle. Expect plenty of Henry and Taylor, which should keep the clock moving. Both teams also have strong defensive fronts, while Baltimore will try to make Jones beat them through the air. This has the setup for a slower, run-heavy opener.
Best prop bet
Ravens RB Derrick Henry 100+ Rushing Yards (+180).
Indianapolis has seen plenty of Henry over the years, and usually not in a good way. Henry has topped 100 rushing yards in 8 of his 16 career games against the Colts, making 100-plus rushing yards an interesting Week 1 target. Baltimore should lean on its workhorse early and often, especially if the Ravens are playing from ahead. DeForest Buckner strengthens the Colts’ front, but a 20-carry afternoon gives Henry a solid path to another big rushing day.
