2025-26 season series: Knicks swept series 4-0
Basketball in the Big Apple is not off to the hottest start, but both Brooklyn and New York will hope their Monday clash is a launching point for the reminder of the year.
Surprisingly, it's the Nets that head to MSG with the winning vibe on their side. Brooklyn just won its first game of the season Sunday 98-90 at the Indiana Pacers. The Nets held off a late push from the Pacers in the fourth
quarter after leading by double-digit points for the victory.
F Michael Porter Jr. (21.2 points, 7.3 rebounds per game) and former Knicks F Julius Randle (20.8 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 5.2 assists) led Brooklyn to its first win. Porter had 23 points and 9 rebounds while Randle put up 20 points with 6 assistants. C Day'Ron Sharpe had a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds as well.
The Knicks should be well rested ahead of this one, having last played Friday in a 98-93 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. It was the second time the Sixers beat New York on the young season.
G Jalen Brunson (25.5 PPG, 5.2 APG) had 24 points and 6 assists in the outing and gave the Knicks a late lead with just over a minute left. Down the stretch, the lack of cohesion for New York reared its ugly head again as the 76ers pulled away in the end. C Karl-Anthony Towns (21.8 PPG, 13.5 RPG) had a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds.
So far this season, the Knicks are 1-5 both against the spread (ATS) and the Over/Under (O/U). Likewise, the Nets are 3-3 both ATS and O/U.

Nets at Knicks picks and predictions
Prediction
Knicks 110, Nets 104
Moneyline
PASS.
There is no juice on taking the Knicks (-1000) outright. At all.
Against the spread
BET NETS +14.5 (-105).
The Nets head into this one finally with a good feeling in their back pocket after beating the Pacers. Still, while it's not the biggest rivalry, it's still the battle for bragging rights in New York and that should give the Knicks even energy in this one. Plus, it would be a noteworthy loss for the Knicks they'll want to avoid in their own arena.
That said, the Knicks should have the talent to hold off the Nets. But with New York missing that championship vibe early on this season from last year, there is every reason to believe the Nets will be able to cover such a huge spread.
Over/Under
BET UNDER 219.5 (-110).
Along with the Knicks lacking cohesion on the offensive end of the floor, the Nets rank right next to them in the NBA this season. New York has the league's fourth-worst offense (107.0 PPG) clashing with the sixth-worst (108.2 PPG). Don't overthink this one.
