The Los Angeles Chargers (0-6) and Los Angeles Rams (3-4) will square off on Sunday afternoon in what's technically a home game for the Rams at SoFi Stadium. The Chargers are seeking their first win of the season, while the Rams are aiming for back-to-back victories for the first time this year. Kickoff is set for 4:05 p.m. ET (FOX) in Inglewood, Calif.
Let's analyze NFL odds around the Chargers vs. Rams odds and make our expert NFL picks and predictions for the best bets.
The Chargers are coming off a Week 7 bye and hope to start fresh after losing their first six games. They rank last in the NFL in points per game (15.0) and have gained the fifth-fewest yards (1,723). They've turned the ball over 15 times, which is a league-high, and rank 6th
with 10 total takeaways on defense. In their last game before the bye, the Chargers scored just 6 points in a 22-6 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Rams have also been a disappointment this season, coming into this matchup at 3-4. They took down the Las Vegas Raiders in a 35-21 win last week, and will now try to win back-to-back games and climb back to .500 on the year. The Rams lead the NFL with 2,794 total yards, also allowing the 5th-fewest yards (2,114) of any team. The Rams scored a season-high 35 points in their win over the Raiders.

Chargers at Rams picks and predictions
Prediction
Rams 24, Chargers 17
Moneyline
This is basically a neutral-field game as both teams call SoFi Stadium home, so there won't be a home-field advantage for either side. And though the Rams are the better team on paper, they can't be trusted on a moneyline as short as -285. The Chargers have not shown enough this season to warrant a bet on the +230 moneyline, either.
PASS on the ML.
Against the spread
The Chargers are an NFL-worst 0-6 against the spread this season, according to Covers. The Rams are slightly better at 3-4, having been favored in all seven games so far. By no means are the Rams a complete or healthy team right now, but they found something against the Raiders last week.
They leaned heavily on the run, and it worked to perfection as the offense put up a season-high 35 points. Against a Chargers defense that has allowed the 12th-most rushing yards and is tied for the third-most rushing touchdowns allowed, the Rams should have success on the ground again with RB Kyren Williams and RB Blake Corum.
BET RAMS -6.5 (-110) at that key number before it climbs to -7 or -7.5.
Over/Under
This has the makings of a game that will go under the line of 45 points. Yes, the Rams went off for 35 points last week, but that was against a bad Raiders defense. Now they face a better Chargers D. And the Chargers rank last in points per game (15).
The Rams' defense has been great this year, even if they aren't turning pressures into sacks. Look for the Rams to shut down an already-struggling Chargers offense, and Sean McVay will likely lean on the run once again.
BET UNDER 45 (-108)
Best prop bet
BRANDON MCMANUS UNDER 7.5 KICKING POINTS (-105)
McManus didn't attempt a single field goal last week against the Raiders but he made all 5 PATs in his Rams debut. McVay hasn't exactly trusted his kickers this season, especially in long-distance situations. Expect the Rams to go for it more on fourth down rather than settling for field goals.
