2025-26 season series: Timberwolves won 2-1
Minnesota routed the LA Clippers 127-101 Friday while covering as a 6.5-point home favorite as the Over (222.5) cashed. G LaMelo Ball and F Jaden McDaniels combined for 47 points, and G Bones Hyland went off for 19 off the bench in the win. The Timberwolves are still without G Anthony Edwards due to knee surgery, but they shot an astounding 18 of 42 (43%) from deep against LA.
San Antonio escaped with a 117-111
OT win over the Utah Jazz Wednesday, failing to cover as a 13.5-point road favorite while the Under (232.5) hit. C Victor Wembanyama went off for 36 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 stocks (steals + blocks) against Utah. The Spurs have won 3 straight since dropping back-to-back to start the season, and they have forced at least 15 turnovers in all 3 wins.

Timberwolves at Spurs picks and predictions
Prediction
Spurs 117, Timberwolves 102
Moneyline
PASS.
The Spurs will win this game comfortably with Edwards out for Minnesota, but they are not worth the risk of betting on as -625 favorites, so pass here and bet on the spread and/or Over/Under instead.
Against the spread
BET SPURS -12.5 (-105).
This is a very tough matchup for this injured Minnesota team. It will be tough to get much going offensively, especially because Wolves C Rudy Gobert is essentially useless on that end. His defense and rebounding make him irreplaceable, however, so they will be forced to play at a disadvantage offensively. Also, the Wolves don't have a guy who will be coming off the bench that they trust to really provide a spark in this matchup, so expect to see a rotation of maybe 7 guys for the whole game.
This is a lean because this Wolves roster is still good and Minnesota matches up pretty well defensively against San Antonio, at least on paper.
Over/Under
LEAN UNDER 225.5 (-110).
With Edwards being out, it will be very hard for the Wolves to find consistent offense, as they will be relying heavily on Ball to produce everything for them on the perimeter. In the paint, it will be even harder for the Wolves to get much of anything going with Wemby down there. On the other side, the Wolves have the best defensive rating (102.4) in basketball, so their defense will be stifling here, as well.
Best prop bet
SPURS C VICTOR WEMBANYAMA OVER 25.5 POINTS (-115).
Wemby has scored at least 29 points in each of his last 3 games against the Timberwolves, and he has taken 20 shots in 3 of his last 4 games against them, as well. Expect to see Wemby go after Gobert early, and now that Naz Reid is no longer on the Wolves, expect that Wemby has a lot more success when Minnesota's bench unit is in.
